Traffic in Keynsham and Saltford was at a standstill this morning after an accident and fuel spillage blocked the eastbound carriageway of the bypass.
The accident happened 
between the Hicks Gate roundabout and the Broadmead roundabout. Fire engines and the police were at the scene.
Traffic was being diverted through Keynsham and bus companies warned of delays to services.
Meanwhile police also reported this morning that the A420 at Deanery Road in Kingswood was partially blocked due to an accident involving a car and a lorry on the roundabout there.
