Accompanying him was Kingswood Tory MP Chris Skidmore. Some people were keen to talk politics while others wanted their pictures taken with the rower, who has two Olympic gold medals and six World Championship titles.
Mr Cracknell, who says he has always been a Conservative supporters, is one of six candidates in the party’s South West team.
The European Elections are on 22nd May. Voters will go to the polls in Britain to choose 73 MEPs in 11 multi-member regional constituencies. Each region has a different number of MEPs based on its population and there are six in the South West.
