Vandals are being blamed for damage to the wall outside of St John the Baptist Church in Keynsham.
The damage to a section near the bus stop was discovered yesterday morning and is believed to have been done on Tuesday night.
Capping stones on top of the wall outside the Grade II church have been pulled off, causing the structure underneath to crumble.
One reader told us: “Three capping stones have been tipped over, two are broken in pieces. Just in time for the fete on Saturday. Desecration.”
The church understands that it will be Bath & North East Somerset Council’s responsibility to repair the wall.
