a police hatPolice in Fishponds have been mounting a high profile campaign against burglary.

The police helicopter was scrambled today after an attempted burglary in the area, and was also up on 14th April when an aerial and ground search for burglary suspects led to two arrests.

Police horses have also been out patrol to help combat a rise in break-ins.

Officers spoke to more than 50 residents during a series of street briefings in the Trendlewood Park area following an increase in burglaries, while police cadets have been on buses on Fishponds Road talking to passengers about how to make them and their homes safer.

In recent weeks patrols have been carried out on and around Fishponds Road and crime reduction advice has been given regarding burglaries. Officers have also been out in plain clothes targeting burglary hotspots.

The mobile police station has been on Duchess Way giving out crime prevention advice and officers have also been advising people at Morrisons and Aldi.
