Groundhop fans to descend on Keynsham Town, Bitton, Oldland & Cadbury Heath this weekend

oldlandFootball fans will be hopping from match to match – including seeing local sides Bitton, Oldland, Keynsham Town, Cadbury Heath in action – as part of this weekend’s Western League Groundhop.

Groundhopping is a popular movement which sees fans travel around as many grounds as they can in one weekend.

The local event kicks off tomorrow (Friday) as Corsham Town host Calne Town at 7.45pm in the Premier Division.

Saturday morning starts bright and early with the first of the Groundhoppers’ four games at Bitton v Street (11am kick-off) in the Premier Division, followed by the short trip to Oldland Abbotonians v Ashton & Backwell United (1.45pm ko) in Division 1.

bitton afcAnother short ‘hop’ will takes them to Cadbury Heath v Cribbs in the Premier (4.30pm ko), before they end the day at Keynsham Town v Westbury United in Division 1 (7.45pm ko).

On Sunday there will be two more games, starting in Division 1 as League newcomers Chipping Sodbury Town host Bishop Sutton (11am ko) before they Groundhoppers round off the weekend at Melksham Town in their final season as they welcome Gillingham Town at 2.30pm in the Premier.
