A woman in her 20s was taken to hospital this morning with suspected neck and hip injuries after a two-car crash in Hanham.

Firefighters and paramedics worked to free the woman from her Ford Fiesta which was in collision with a Hyundai in Memorial Road.

Fire and rescue crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the seats and glass from the rear window. Working alongside paramedics, they got the woman on to a spinal board and removed her from the car via the boot.

The driver of the Hyundai was already out of the vehicle when crews arrived and was unharmed.
