The man responsible for last weekend’s bomb hoax in Cassell Road, on the border of Downend and Fishponds, today pleaded guilty when he appeared before magistrates in Bristol.
Stewart Jackson, 42, from Emersons Green, was accused of placing an article with intent and criminal damage to property.
He admitted both offences and was remanded in custody to appear at Bristol Crown Court on 23rd June.
Some 460 homes were evacuated last Saturday morning after police attended a report of a suspicious car in Cassell Road and found a vehicle doused in fuel.
The bomb squad were called out and carried out some controlled explosions although no real explosives were found.
Jackson was arrested that night in Emersons Green and later released on bail. He was rearrested yesterday.
