Kingswood MP Chris Skidmore and his fiancée Lydia have announced the arrival of their baby daughter.
Clementine Rose was born at St Michael’s Hospital (the same hospital her father was born 33 years ago) on Sunday 17th August at 8.27am, weighing 6lbs 9ozs.
Mr Skidmore said: “Our little daughter is beautiful and I’m incredibly proud of Lydia.
“Thank you to the wonderful staff at St Michael’s Hospital and the community midwife team at Cadbury Heath who have been fantastic in delivering Clemmie and looking after us over the past week.
“Everyone has been so kind to us and I’d also like to thank all those who have been in touch to send their best wishes. We are looking forward to life together as a family here.”
Mr Skidmore believes Clementine is possibly the first baby born in the Bristol area to a serving MP for several decades, if not longer.
And on Mr Skidmore’s father’s side of the family, who have lived in the Kingswood area for over a century, she is the first female baby born in his line for 100 years so her grandparents are also delighted.
