Woman held on suspicion of conspiracy to murder after Fishponds stabbing

A woman has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a 17-year-old boy in Fishponds last Friday.

He sustained a number of stab wounds at about 8pm while in the Ridgeway Road area. Paramedics attended and he was taken to hospital where his condition this week was said to remain stable.

On Monday Avon & Somerset Police said: “An 18-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. She remains in custody at this time.

“Inquiries are ongoing and we are continuing with additional reassurance patrols.”

Officers, supported by the police helicopter, conducted a thorough search of the area after Friday’s incident and further inquiries, including reviewing CCTV footage, were carried out over the weekend.

A man arrested on Friday night was later released from custody without charge.
