Five-time Olympic gold medallist Sir Ste
ve Redgrave was at Wellsway School in Keynsham yesterday to promote the importance of exercise and sports in schools.
The retired rower hosted a special Matalan Sporting Promise event, celebrating the great PE activities available at Wellsway, which is a specialist sports and science academy.
Matalan Sporting Promise supports sport and PE activity in schools in partnership with the Youth Sport Trust.
It was at the Avon County Schools Regatta held at Saltford that Sir Steve, the nationa’s most famous oarsman, won his first ever medal.
