Shock death of Cadbury Heath FC’s general manager

springfieldfloral tributesCadbury Heath FC are today mourning Terry Green, their general manager and vice chairman, who died at the ground yesterday.

President Terry Mitchell made the announcement on the club’s website yesterday afternoon: “Our beloved general manager and vice chairman Terry Green was found this morning collapsed whilst preparing Springfield. An ambulance was called but they were unable to revive him.”

Floral tributes have been left at the ground in memory of Terry, who lived in Mangotsfield and had been due to celebrate his 71st birthday tomorrow.

He leaves a long-term partner and three grown-up children, one of whom lives in Australia.

logo clubThe club plays in the Toolstation Western League. Last night’s away game with Buckland Athletic was cancelled as a mark of respect, with the Devon club saying their thoughts were with everyone at Cadbury Heath.

Oldland Abbotonians FC at Oldland Common have also sent their  sympathies and condolences to Mr Green’s family and friends, describing his loss as “terrible news”.
