A man had to be cut free from his car by firefighters after it collided with a lamp post in Snowdon Road in Fishponds.
When crews arrived on the scene in the early hours of today they found a man in his 30s trapped and complaining of leg and chest pain.
After stabilising the Toyota car, crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof.
Working alongside paramedics they helped the man on to a spinal board and he was taken to hospital.
