Major maintenance works are taking place along Court Farm Road and Abbots Road this week.
The South Gloucestershire Council works, which have started today, involve patching, prior to surface dressing next summer.
Traffic is being diverted when closures are in place. Residents, who have been warned to expect a “significant amount of noise”, will be able to access their homes at all times although delays may occur.
Local councillor Toby Savage said: “The state of Court Farm Road is something that gets raised with me regularly and so I’m pleased that works to improve the road surface have started.
“It’s equally important that everyone knows that it is business as usual for our local pubs and businesses and that they are still accessible through the advertised diversions.”
The Elm Tree, Chequers and Old Lock & Weir pubs are along the affected route. The works are scheduled to take five days.
