Proposed solution for parking problems near Sainsbury’s in Lyde Green

Parking and access issues stemming from the development of the new Sainsbury’s Local store at Thistle Close in Lyde Green have led to proposed waiting restrictions.

South Gloucestershire Council says that double yellow lines in the area around Thistle Close will remove “obstructive and inappropriate parking” on junctions and narrow sections; improving access to the supermarket, as well as local homes and making it safer for residents and traffic in general.

The consultation is open until 2nd December. To respond to the consultation and have your views taken into account, there is an online questionnaire at www.southglos.gov.uk/consultation

Depending on the result of the consultation, the council hopes the proposed scheme will be introduced during the next financial year.
