Police appeal for witnesses and dash cam footage after ring road collision causes long tailbacks

Police are asking anyone who witnessed a serious road traffic collision on the A4174 ring road at the Hambrook lights junction yesterday to come forward.

At approximately 2.35pm they received a call to say there had been a collision involving a bike and a grey Volkswagen Golf.

Paramedics and police attended the scene. The cyclist, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical, but stable condition.

The road was closed for a number of hours, with miles of tailbacks around the area, before reopening later last night.

CCTV inquiries are ongoing but police ask any drivers with dash cam footage, or any witnesses, to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 5221050612.
