A cement mixer lorry overturned on the Broadmead roundabout near Waitrose in Keynsham this morning and was not completely removed until this evening’s rush hour.
A giant crane was brought in to lift the lorry, and then the cement mixer was lifted on to a recovery vehicle and taken away around 5pm.
It is understood the lorry driver was taken to hospital.
The incident caused long hold-ups in and around the town, particularly on the A4. Traffic was also queued back as far as Bitton this evening.
Police rerouted traffic heading towards Bath via the Ashmead Trading Estate.
