Police today said they had made an arrest in connection with the murder of Melanie Road more than 30 years ago.
A spokesman for Avon & Somerset police said: “A 63-year-old man from Bristol has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Melanie Road. He remains in custody at this time.”
Melanie, 17, was murdered in June 1984 following a night out with friends in Bath.
Police say it would be inappropriate for them to comment further at this stage.
