Man arrested in Dundee over disappearance of South Glos mum and her children

Police in Scotland today said they have arrested a 50-year-old man in Dundee in connection with a young South Gloucestershire mum and her two daughters who are missing.

Bennylyn Burke, 25, was reported missing on Monday (1st March) having last been seen at her home believed to be in the Kingswood area on Wednesday 17th February.

Today Detective Superintendent Graeme Mackie, of Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team, said: “Officers in Dundee attended a property on Troon Avenue around 3.20pm on Friday 5th March as part of an inquiry into a missing 25-year-old woman, Bennylyn Burke, and two children from South Gloucestershire.

“As a result, a 50-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this and inquiries are ongoing. Bennylyn’s next of kin have been made aware and are being supported by colleagues in Avon & Somerset Police.

“There will be an increased police presence in the area over the coming days and we thank the local community for their cooperation at this time.”
