A lorry driver had a lucky escape after his vehicle got stuck under a railway bridge in Brislington yesterday.
When firefighters arrived on the scene in Whitby Road, they found the 7.5 tonne lorry with its cab and front wheels off the ground and suspended in mid-air.
The driver had managed to climb out of the vehicle and was unharmed. He was assessed by paramedics at the scene.
Firefighters stabilised the vehicle using heavy rescue equipment from Avonmouth Fire Station to ensure it would not move from its location until it could be recovered.
