A lorry driver was taken to hospital suffering from head injuries after being rescued from the cab of his HGV which overturned on the A420 London Road at Bridgeyate this morning.
When Avon Fire & Rescue crews arrived on the scene shortly after 5.30am they found the vehicle on its side and the driver, thought to be in his 50s, trapped inside.
After stabilising the vehicle, they used a working platform to get access to the cab and get the driver out.
The road was closed while the incident was ongoing and for investigation and recovery work and there were severe delays in the area.
