A lightning strike is believed to have sparked a fire at a farm in Abson, near Wick, today.
When fire crews arrived at Abson Road at 1.15am they found a building used as an office was well alight.
Using two high pressure hose reels and a 45mm jet, two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguish the blaze, which caused extensive damage.
An investigation found it most probably started accidentally after being struck during a storm as all other possible causes were ruled out.
Crews worked hard to prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring and adjoining buildings.
