Plans to convert the redundant Soundwell Spiritualist National Union Church into an eight-bed house of multiple occupation (HMO) have been submitted to South Gloucestershire Council.
Kore Property Holdings Ltd’s plans for single-storey detached property at 123A Soundwell Road include a first-floor extension.
No car parking is proposed but the plans include eight cycle spaces.
The application says the church closed its doors on 21st May 2022 for the last time due to the lack of support from the membership in forming a committee.
The church sold off land in 1970 to a private buyer. This land has been subject of several auction sales and planning applications for redevelopment there is a current planning approval on the land for a pair of semi-detached single-storey houses.
The planning reference for the HMO scheme is P23/02858/F.
