Queens Road Methodist Church Pre-School in Keynsham, which was branded as Inadequate by Ofsted earlier this year, has now achieved a Good rating following another inspection.
After February’s visit, Ofsted said that children’s safety and welfare was compromised due to weaknesses in safeguarding arrangements. The pre-school’s leadership and management received the lowest rating as did the personal development of children, while the quality of education, and children’s behaviour and attitudes were said to require improvement.
However, in the latest inspection report published this week, all categories are rated as Good. Ofsted says that the manager has worked hard to support and upskill her team’s knowledge of safeguarding procedures. Children love attending the pre-school and make good progress. There is an ambitious, inclusive curriculum in place and staff are said to be friendly and caring. Children behave well and learn to be independent.
The inspector’s report says that parents speak very positively about the pre-school and the friendly staff. They know what their children are learning and parents of those with special educational needs and/or disabilities report on how the manager can “never do enough” to help their family unit.
The pre-school has 48 children on the roll.
