Among those enjoying Hanham High Street’s summer fair on Saturday was the North East Somerset MP Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg.
Boundary changes will see a new North East Somerset and Hanham constituency at the next General Election and Sir Jacob has been selected as the Conservatives’ candidate.
Sir Jacob was seen sheltering under an umbrella, which depicted a hunting scene, as he queued with two of his children for a fairground ride. He also chatted to visitors to the fair, where the showers failed to dampen spirits.
There were stalls, including food vendors, and entertainers in the High Street which was closed to traffic for the annual event organised by the Hanham Business & Community Partnership.
