Lane closures planned as council carries out maintenance work on A roads in B&NES

Drivers are being advised about a series of lane closures of A roads in Bath & North East Somerset as part of maintenance works by the council.

A rolling programme of grass and verge cutting, gully cleansing, litter picking, street light maintenance and road sweeping was getting under way today and will continue until Tuesday 27th June.

Pothole repairs are also being done, as well as highway patching using the council’s thermal repair technology which is a carbon-saving alternative to traditional methods of repairing roads.

The affected roads are the A4174 Avon Ring Road, A4 Keynsham Bypass, A4 Bath Road, A4 Bristol Road, A37 Upper Bristol Road and A39 Bath Road.

Work is also being carried out on several roundabouts, including Hicks Gate, Broadmead and Chelwood.

All works are being carried out between 9.15am and 4pm to reduce the impact on traffic however the council is advising people to plan their journeys.

The routine maintenance and cleansing works are being carried out under single lane closures, avoiding full road closures and no work will be carried out over the weekend to minimise disruption.
