Plans to build a block of flats on a redundant car park in Kingswood town centre have been submitted to South Gloucestershire Council.
Whitehorse Homes Ltd have lodged the application for nine flats in a two-storey detached block on the site which sits between Dorset Road and Gilbert Road, not far from Kings Chase Shopping Centre.
7-9 Dorset Road is a single-storey light industrial building which has a large service/car parking yard.
The existing access from Dorset Road which serves the site would be retained and continue to serve 7,8, and 9 Dorset Road. The proposed access to the new development would come off Gilbert Road.
The planning application says the proposal seeks to make better use of a large plot and does not cause any overlooking issues.
Twelve car parking spaces are proposed. There would also be a bike store in the rear communal gardens with 12 spaces.
