Police appeal after man is punched in the face in Keynsham

Police are appealing for the public’s help after a man was punched in the face in Keynsham having confronted a suspected shoplifter.

Officers were called at around 6.50pm to a shop in Queens Road on Friday 3rd February after the attack by an unknown man.

The victim had confronted the offender, believing he had stolen items from the store, when he was attacked. He did not require hospital treatment but suffered bad bruising above his eye. The unknown man ran off towards the park in Queens Road.

Police would like to identify the man in this picture, who they believe has information which could help their investigation. He is white, slim and about 5ft 10in with almost shaven hair. He is shown wearing a red jacket.
