Keynsham branch of TSB to close in May

The TSB in Keynsham High Street will shut its doors on 2nd May with customers advised that the nearest alternative branch is in Bedminster.

Keynsham is one of nine branches that will be lost in TSB’s latest round of closures with the bank saying that more than 90% of transactions are now being made digitally.

In recent years Keynsham has lost Lloyds, NatWest, Santander, Barclays and last September HSBC closed and is now being turned into a café-bar.

TSB says that 79% of personal customers and 90% of business customers visiting the Keynsham branch also use another TSB branch or channel.

Customers are told that the nearest branch is in East Street, Bedminster, which it says is an 18-minute drive away and can also be reached by public transport. Alternatively customers are advised to go into the Merchant Street branch in Bristol city centre. The Bath branch closed last June.

TSB also advises its customers that they can use the Post Office branches in Keynsham High Street or Chandag Road for transactions and there are also six cash machines in Keynsham.

Keynsham still has a Halifax and a Coventry Building Society.
