A section in the middle of Willowherb Road in Lyde Green has been closed to traffic while work is carried out to upgrade bus stops near the primary school so that the metrobus route can be extended and public transport links improved.
The M3 service will travel from the A4174 to Bristol & Bath Science Park, along Feynman Way and Newland Lane, then Willowherb Road to serve the newly upgraded stops before continuing onto Lyde Green Park & Ride and Emersons Green.
There is a signed diversion in place during the works on the bus stops on both sides of the road. In a post on social media this week South Gloucestershire Council says the project will take eight weeks but the sign by the closure says six weeks from 9th January.
The diversion route is Willowherb Road, Jenner Boulevard, Westerleigh Road, the A4174 Ring Road and Willowherb Road, and vice versa.
People can access the car park outside the school and community centre, but there is no through route.
