Boy assaulted at fireworks event at Downend park

Police are investigating an assault on a boy at the Downend Round Table fireworks event last Friday night.

Avon & Somerset Police said: “We are investigating an assault on a boy that happened at the King George V Playing Field, in Downend.

“The victim was punched multiple times at about 7.30pm on Friday 4th November and sustained facial injuries in the process.

“Officers attended but were told the offender fled the scene soon after the assault.

“The offender is described as white, male, mid-teens, about 5ft 4-6ins with dark mousy blond hair. He was wearing a grey top with a CP Company logo on one sleeve.

“Enquiries to identify the offender are ongoing. Witnesses or anyone else who can help out enquiries is asked to call 101 and give the call handler reference numberĀ 5222266142.”
