Around 1,000 children took part in Hanham High Street’s Halloween Trail, bringing a welcome boost to traders.

Every child received a ‘Monster Map’ and set out on a journey around the High Street to find Halloween characters in shop windows.

The event was organised by Nicola Bartlett, who runs Eclectic Gift Shop. She said: “After completing their map, I wrote out a certificate for each child and they received a goody bag of treats including colouring-in sheets, stickers and sweets.

“The trail was far busier than I anticipated, with numbers exceeding pre-pandemic levels, showing that people are keen to get out and about and explore their High Street.

“It gave a boost to the local economy as those taking part also supported businesses on the High Street, with many stopping to enjoy something to eat or drink along the way, while others started their Christmas shopping.”
