Metro Mayor Dan Norris and bus company bosses will hear concerns about services and take questions from South Gloucestershire councillors next Wednesday.
Mr Norris, who is in charge of the West of England Combined Authority (WECA), will attend the Scrutiny Commission meeting in Kingswood along with First’s managing director Doug Claringbold and his counterpart at Stagecoach Rachel Geliamassi. Joining them will be Stagecoach’s head of strategic development Nick Small.
Among the series of questions already tabled by councillors are whether residents are being given an opportunity to be consulted on replacement services when WECA agrees to the cancellation of a service in their community.
The “complete lack of accurate and informative information available that will encourage people to have confidence in using the bus service” as there are no printed bus timetables available is another concern being flagged up.
The Mayor will also be asked what WECA is doing to help tackle the problem of bus driver shortages.
The meeting starts at 6.30pm on Wednesday (6th July) at Kingswood Civic Centre and will be available to watch online.
