Charlton Road reopens a week after water main burst

Charlton Road has reopened, a week after the emergency closure caused by a burst water main.

The road, which links Keynsham and the A37, had been closed since last Thursday when a burst water main severely damaged the road, caused flooding to some properties, and took out water supplies in Keynsham, Compton Dando, Saltford, Whitchurch, Corston and Newton St Loe.

Bristol Water announced at noon today that Charlton Road is now fully reinstated.

“We’ve removed the traffic management and are reopening the road. Thank you to everyone for being so patient as our crew have worked tirelessly in the heat this week to get the repairs completed.”
