Lands End to John O’Groats for Jack

CryRide Team WebRegular readers will know the story of Saltford’s Jack Boulton, who died tragically in 2009 aged just 17. Since that time, family, friends and fellow sportsmen and women have raised a staggering £40,000 for the charity CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young).  Now, Jack’s father Dave  and nine other friends, are preparing their biggest challenge yet. They will set off from Land’s End on 29th June and attempt to ride to John O’Groats over the following 13 days (an average of 80 to 90 miles a day).

Jack’s death three and a half years ago was as a result of a sudden cardiac arrest. He was a talented sportsman with a bright academic. Jack attended the sixth-form at Wellsway School and played football for Keynsham and Saltford football clubs, cricket for Keynsham Cricket Club and was Junior Captain at Saltford Golf Club. The aim of the ride is to raise an additional £10,000 for CRY and anyone wishing to donate can visit http://cryride.co.uk/, twitter account, facebook and Virgin Money giving site – http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/cryride
