Keynsham Time Capsule Located

Demolition workers on the Keynsham Civic Centre redevelopment have located the time capsule buried in 1964 when the former Town Hall was under construction. The steel box was in remarkable shape, even after a mauling from the giant stone crusher, and was welded closed.  Memorabilia from Keynsham in the early 1960s has remained in pristine condition including coins and stamps, black and white photographs and copies of local newspapers.  Keynsham Town Councillors will meet next week to decide what to do with the capsule. A new one is being prepared for burial as the Civic Centre redevelopment takes shape and the most likely option is that the material is archived and then included with the new capsule.
