Actor Roland Oliver assumes the role of Horace Batchelor in preparation for next week’s preview of Kevin Cattell’s play “An Audience with Horace Batchelor – King of Keynsham.” The one man show opens at The Brewery in Bristol at the end of the month following a three night, sell out preview next week at the Pomegranate Cafe & Restaurant on Temple Street, Keynsham.
The enigmatic Horace Batchelor captured the country’s attention during the late 50’s and early 60’s with his Infra Draw method for playing the football pools and his Radio Luxembourg adverts put Keynsham, (“that’s K-E-Y”) on the map. Playwright Kevin Cattell grew up in Keynsham and received a lot of help from local residents in piecing together material for the show.
You can book tickets for the performances at the Brewery, Tobacco Factory Theatre from 30th July to 10th August by calling 0117 902 0344 or on line at www.tobaccofactorytheatre.com
