Police who have been investigating a report of a serious sexual assault in the Hillfields area say they have determined that no crime was committed.
A team of officers have been working on the inquiry since last Wednesday.
Today Det Supt Rachel Williams said: “We’ve carried out an exhaustive investigation which has now confirmed that no crime took place.
“I know the initial report was concerning for local residents and while it’s reassuring news that no crime was committed, I’d like to emphasise that we take all reports of rape and sexual assault very seriously and will always commit every necessary resource into investigating them.”
