Thunderstorms caused flash flooding on roads in Keynsham, Saltford and Whitchurch yesterday, and there were reports of houses in Keynsham being flooded.
Avon Fire & Rescue Service said six houses in Balmoral Road, three in Dapps Hill and a house in Berkeley Gardens were affected.
There was severe flooding on the A4 at Saltford near the garden centre and Charlton Road, Keynsham, and Bristol Road, Whitchurch, were affected by blocked drains.
The Bath Hill and Fox and Hounds car parks in Keynsham were also hit by flash flooding.
Farrells was forced to close its restaurant in Temple Street. There was a note on the door telling customers what had happened and the restaurant tweeted: “Just to inform our customers that our Keynsham restaurant will not be open this evening due to a nasty flood. We apologise.”
Flooding from drains also affected electrics at The Crown Inn in Bristol Road, Keynsham.
