The Cross House at Doynton closed suddenly last week. A notice on the door blamed the closure on financial difficulties.
Enterprise Inns, the owners, are currently trying to resolve the problem with the tenant. If that is not possible it will be re advertised for a new tenant. The Doynton Community have expressed their disappointment at the pub’s closure, having spoken of it as a ‘community pub’. Enterprise Inns also owns other pubs in the area which are either on, or have been on the market recently. These include the Midland Spinner in Warmley, Jolly Cobbler in Kingswood and the Carpenters Arms at Wick which has recently re-opened.
