Bomb disposal experts carried out a controlled explosion yesterday after Avon & Somerset Police were called to an address in Kingswood at around 1pm regarding a suspected World War One shell.
A police spokesperson said: “The item was removed and a controlled explosion took place at about 5pm on Rodway Common.
“A cordon was put in place while that operation took place.”
