91-year-old man burgled in Staple Hill

police logoPolice are appealing for information after two men burgled the home of a 91-year-old man in Staple Hill.

They forced the front door of the house in Park Road just before 10pm yesterday (Monday 14th October).

They told the elderly man that there had been a burglary nearby and that they were checking other properties. While one of them kept him occupied, the other searched his bedroom and stole around £150 from a wallet. They then left by the front door. The elderly man was not hurt.

Both burglars are described as white, aged about 30 and of medium build. One was 5ft 10in and wearing a grey hat with earflaps and a knee-length coat. The other was 5ft 8in.

Police would like anyone who saw the men, or who saw anyone or anything suspicious in the area at the time, to call them on 101 quoting crime reference number 102621/13.
