Young footballers from Red Falcon and Warmley under 8’s held a minute’s applause before their games on Sunday following the death of young Lee Belgium. Lee, who had cancer three times in his short lifetime, died of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. His family and the local community had been trying to raise ¬£90,000 to pay for pioneering treatment in Turkey.

Elsewhere, planners approved  proposals to extend the Bristol & Bath Science Park despite concerns of neighbouring residents and an application has been submitted to build 30 apartments on the site of the old Keynsham Police Station.
