There will be no industrial action by Unison members in South Gloucestershire this weekend after a meeting between union and council representatives today.
In the latest round of strike action, workers at the Vinney Green Secure Unit at Emersons Green went on strike for 60 hours this week.
And workers in libraries, care homes, and civil enforcement walked out for four hours last Saturday after South Gloucestershire Council’s offer of a short-term buy-out payment in return for giving up Saturday payments was rejected.
A council spokesperson said tonight: “Following a meeting between Unison and the council today, we can confirm that there will be no industrial action taking place over the weekend.
“Further negotiations will take place to resolve the issue.”
