Police have praised a Hanham resident whose call led to the arrest of four men for going equipped to steal.
Officers were called just after 1am yesterday (Sunday) after a householder saw a group of men climbing their fence to get into a neighbour’s garden.
Within half an hour of the call, officers patrolling the area had made four arrests and seized tools, gloves and torches from a car.
Four men aged between 27 and 37 and all from Bridgwater in Somerset were later released on police bail, pending further inquiries.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Andrew Hucker said: “I’d like to thank the householder who called us after spotting this suspicious behaviour. We’ll always welcome a call in good faith about suspected criminal activity.”
