Feast of fun at Keynsham Food Festival

farrellsKeynsham hosted its third annual Food Festival yesterday.

Keynsham Chamber of Commerce organised the day-long festival which had the theme ‘The Best of Local Food’ and was staged at the Scout HQ at Ashton Way.

It was also Keynsham Farmers’ Market day in the adjoining car park.

Local eateries and producers taking part included Pomegranate, Top Tier Catering, Tandoori Garden, Chewton Farm Meats, Café Crème, Grasmere Court Hotel, Heavenly Hedgerows, Newton Farm Shop and Upton Cheyney Chilli Farm.

Also there and promoting their reopening on Wednesday 18th September following major flood damage in July was Temple Street restaurant Farrells, see above.

As well as local produce tscoutso taste and buy, there were demonstrations from local chefs, wine tasting and the Scouts, Cubs and Beavers demonstrated their cooking skills on an open fire.

And the Keynsham Foodbank also had a stall to promote what it does. The foodbank, part of the Trussell Trust, gives three days of emergency food to local individuals and families in crisis on referral from a care professional.
