The number of visitors was up 2,000 on last year.
With up to six trips departing throughout the day over 12 days, the Bitton-based heritage railway saw passengers paying up to £12 a head at peak times for the six-mile round trip, which included presents from Santa for the children.
On Boxing Day the railway began its post-Christmas Sherry and Mince Pie Specials, giving passengers a great view of the flooded fields around Bitton, Keynsham and Saltford on the six-mile journey.
The Sherry and Mince Pie Specials are running today (28th), tomorrow and on New Year’s Day, with trains departing from Bitton Station at 11am, 12.15pm, 1.30pm and 2.45pm. There is no need to book.
