Police arrest dangerous sex offender in Hambrook

A “dangerous” sex offender who absconded from Leyhill Open Prison on Tuesday is back in custody tonight.

Adam Mark, pictured, was arrested by police today after a tip-off from a member of the public who saw him in the Hambrook area.

He is serving a life sentence after being convicted in 1996 of three rapes and one attempted rape. He is considered to be a danger to the public and particularly children. On a number of occasions he targeted women and girls getting off buses or who were at bus stops as well as a woman walking her dog alone.

An Avon & Somerset police spokesman said: “We would like to thank the press and public for their help during the operation. “
