Barratt Homes has now submitted its planning application to B&NES Council for the second part of the K2 housing scheme. Last month, we reported that the house builder had reached a deal to purchase the land off Charlton Road for an estimated £12.4 million.
After a series of consultations over the last year, the plan is now to build 266 homes ranging from one-bedroom flats to 5 bedroom detached houses. 93 of those homes will be deemed ‘affordable’ (for rent or assisted purchase) across all accommodation types except the five-bedroom detached.
Access, both during construction and after completion, will be via a new roundabout on Charlton Road and the scheme also includes a large community open space and play area which will replace the current play park at Holmoak Road.
Public consultation has just opened and the deadline for responses is 13th February. The application reference is 14/00049/FUL.
