The road between Westerleigh and Pucklechurch will be closed for five days next month.
South Gloucestershire Council is building a new island refuge outside Westerleigh Crematorium as part of a pedestrian improvement scheme.
To do so safely it says it needs to close Westerleigh Road from Monday 17th to Friday 21st February.
The closure will be in place on the stretch of road outside the crematorium only. Access to properties and amenities will be available from the relevant end of the B4465 but there will be no through access during this time.
Access to the crematorium will be via the Westerleigh Hill/Westerleigh Road direction. A signed diversion via Westerleigh Hill, Westerleigh Road, the A4174 and Shortwood Road will be in place.
The council says it is carrying out the work during school half-term to try to minimise disruption. Before the closure there will be temporary signals in place for two weeks from 3rd to 14th February while additional facilities to help bus passengers and pedestrians are put in place.
